Abstract

A cross - sectional descriptive study was conducted on 544 students studying at 04 public high schools in the Go Vap district to describe the status of premarital sex behavior and some related factors. The relationship of students at some high schools in the district in 2022. The results showed that 94.1% of students with common behavior achieved premarital sex. Many factors affect students’ premarital sex behavior, grade level (OR = 0.15; 95%CI: 0.04 - 0.51); exchange/share reproductive health issues (OR = 2.73; 95%CI: 1.11 - 6.30); alcohol use (OR = 0.23; 95%CI: 0.07 - 0.99); smoking (OR = 0.37; 95%CI: 0.15 - 0.94); general knowledge (OR = 3.20; 95%CI: 1.45 - 7.04); general attitude (OR = 3.93; 95%CI: 1.57 - 9.20). It is necessary to organize a training course on knowledge about reproductive health and premarital sex for students, integrating it into thematic hours and extracurricular activities. Parents increase sharing and support for their children about adolescent reproductive health, and at the same time allow them to participate in extracurricular classes on reproductive health to improve their understanding, positive attitudes, and participation prevention and treatment of diseases related to reproductive health.
