Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted among 323 HIV/AIDS patients being treated ART at Vinh city general hospital, Nghe An province to describe quality of life and factors associated with quality of life of people living with HIV in Nghe An provine in 2021. In addition to completion of socio-demographic questionnaire, the World Health Organization's Quality of Life HIV instrument was used to measure quality of life. With domain scores range from 4 (poorest) to 20 (best), the quality of life means score in this research was 14.5 ± 1.8. The highest score was got from physical domain (15.4 ± 2.6) and level of independence domain (15.4 ± 2.4). The quality of life means score in social relationship domain was the lowest (13.4 ± 2.1). Gender, occupation, education, and living with others are factors related to the specific domains of quality of life of people living with HIV. Males, lower educational attainment increases spiritual domain scores; Unemployment is the factor that reduces quality of life in many areas; Living with others is a factor that improves psychological domain scores.
