Knowledge, practice on food safety and hygiene among staff at common kitchens of kindergartens in Ngo Quyen district in Hai Phong in 2016

A cross-sectional study was conducted on
168 collective kitchen staff at kindergartens in Ngo Quyen district in Haiphong from January 2016 to November 2016 to determine staff’s knowledge on food safety and hygiene. The data were collected through interviewing participants using standard questionnaire. The research results showed that the percentage of common kitchen staff who have the correct
knowledge of food safety and hygiene was
79.8%, staff who have good practice accounted for 88.1%, and the percentage of common kitchen staff who have both good knowledge and practice was 73.8%. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen communication and training to improve food safety knowledge and practices for common kitchen staff.
