A cross-sectional study was conducted to examine some factors related to measles in Hanoi in 2018 in order to make a plan for measles prevention and control in the coming years. Analysis of 571 confrmed measles cases, and 148 cases negative for measles showed that: there were 5 factors related to the increase of measles cases including non-vaccination against measles (adjusted OR: 4.7; 95% CI: 3.7- 10.2); inadequate immunization (adjusted OR = 3.7; 95% CI: 1.7-8.1). A history of exposure to case suspected measles (adjusted OR: 2.1; 95% CI: 1.2 -3.8); previous hospitalization history (adjusted OR: 6.5; 95% CI: 1.3 31.9) and living in urban areas. To reduce the risk of measles infection, it is necessary to increase measles vaccination coverage, early dectect suspected cases to strictly isolation and control cross-transmission effectively in hospitals.
