The research article on community consensus on the release of Wolbachiainfected Aedes mosquitoes to control Dengue hemorrhagic fever in Tien Giang province and Binh Duong province. Wolbachia is a bacterium capable of preventing the transmission of dangerous viruses such as Dengue, Zika, and Chikungunya. The survey was conducted with 2,162 people, mostly aged between 31 and 70, and with varying levels of education. Results showed that 98.5% of the population supports the mosquito release. Specifically, 98.3% of people in My Tho city (Tien Giang) and 98.7% of people in Thu Dau Mot city (Binh Duong) agreed to use Wolbachia mosquitoes to reduce disease transmission. The majority believed that this method will decrease cases of Dengue fever and other mosquito-borne diseases. The level of awareness about the Wolbachia method is relatively high, with 80.8% of respondents recognizing its benefits in reducing Dengue transmission. However, detailed understanding of how Wolbachia works remains limited, and those with higher educational levels possess deeper knowledge of the method’s effectiveness. The study concluded that the release of Wolbachia mosquitoes has received broad community support, providing a critical foundation for implementing this method in controlling mosquito-borned diseases.
