Abstract

The descriptive study to assess the prevalence of acute respiratory infection (ARI) in 389 children under 5 years old at 2 communes, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province from September 2020 to June 2021. The prevalence of ARI in children under 5 years old in 3 months from October to December 2020 at 2 communes was 47% (183/389 children). In particular, the rate of ARI in children at Tam Thanh commune and Trung Thanh commune were 43.8% (85/194 children) and 50.3% (98/195 children), respectively. The rate of upper ARI and lower ARI were 42.7% (166/389 children) and 11.8% (46/389 children), respectively. The incidence of ARI in children at 2 communes remained high. Therefore, it is necessary to propose intervention programs to improve children’s health in the community.
