Abstract

This study aims to describe the direct costs for the treatment of Candidiasis on the skin-mucosa for patients with dermatological diseases at Quy Hoa Central Hospital of Leprosy and Dermatology in 2016-2018. The results show that the average cost for a case of Candida sp is 703,345.3 VND (median is 413,710.4 VND). In particular, the highest direct health expenditure in 2016 was 793,878.9 VND on average (median 572,052.5 VND). The direct health expenditures in 2017 and 2018 were on average 433,842.8 VND (median 336,679.7 VND) and 425,291 VND (median 376,659.4 VND), respectively. There is a difference in direct health costs for people who have health care insurance and for those without health care insurance, with average costs being 274,282.90 VND (median 62,168.0 VND) and 717,705.0 VND, respectively (median 923,411.4 VND). Thus, those who do not have health insurance must pay 2.6 times more than those who do.
