Abstract

A case - control study was conducted to identify some associated behavioral factors of obesity in students aged 11 - 14 years old in Hanoi city, 2018. 378 obese students and 378 normal weight students from 30 schools participating in the study. The results showed that although obese children had healthier nutritional habits, the propotion of obese children participating in physical activities was low, while the time spent participating in screen activities was quite high, especially watching TV > 120 minutes/day, internet access > 120 minutes/day and using electronic devices before going to bed > 120 minutes/day were considered a factor of obesity (p < 0.05).
