The study aimed to provide a general description of drug-related problems (DRPs) that occur during the prescription of cancer treatment drugs in the gynecological oncology department, as well as assess the impact of clinical pharmacist interventions (PIs) using the CLEO tool. A cross-sectional descriptive retrospective study on DRPs and PIs was performed by pharmacists at the Department of Gynecologic Oncology, Central Maternity Hospital, from July 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022. The results showed that there were 65 DRPs and PIs, 70% of the patients had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The drug most frequently associated with DRPs was carboplatin (46.2%). The majority of DRPs (87.7%) were related to dosage issues, while 26.2% of the PIs documented changes in the clinical practice behavior of the physicians. 52.3% of the PIs had a significant clinical impact in terms of preventing hospitalization or permanent disability, 49.2% contributed to cost reduction in drug therapy, and 69.2% demonstrated beneficial effects on the organization aspect. The performed PIs positively impacted clinical, economic, and organizational. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance clinical pharmacy activities for patients with gynecological cancer to ensure safety and effectiveness in medication use.
