Abstract

The study was to describe nutritional status according to arm circumference (MUAC) and some related factors in pregnant women visiting the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2023. The study was conducted on 468 pregnant women who visited the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology from January to June 2023. The study results showed that the proportion of pregnant women at risk of malnutrition (MUAC < 23cm) is 15.4%. The factors related to malnutrition according to MUAC of pregnant women are the number of births, BMI before pregnancy, weight gain according to IOM, thickness of subcutaneous fat, and frequency of using eggs. These differences are statistically significant with p < 0.05. Therefore, it is necessary to assess pregnant women’s nutritional status and advise on appropriate diets to improve the nutritional status and dietary intake of women during pregnancy.
