Efficiency of information technology application in the management of sperm donation, reception, and ovarian donation, reception at 3 reproductive support centers in 2018

Applying the design of a non-controlled intervention study to evaluate efficiency of the application of information technology (IT) in the management of sperm and oocyte donation and receipt at 3 Central Obstetrics and Gynecology hospitals, Tu Du, Hue Central General Hospital 2018. The study carried out the intervention within each Assisted Reproductive Center effectively evaluated through comparison before and after the intervention. The subjects of the assessment were 80 medical staff including hospital leaders, Center leaders, department heads, and all medical staff and 12 customers who donated and received sperm and ovum at 3 hospitals in 2018. The results show that the strongest point of the donation management software, receiving sperm and ovum is the identification of the donor by fingerprint to ensure that the donor cannot donate repeatedly at one facility or at other facilities. After the intervention 100% of health staff agreed and strongly agreed that the patient identification was accurate, the reception time was fast, it was easy to search for records, synthesize reports, and the ability to delegate authority and protect high density. 100% of health staff think that the software meets management needs. From the research results, the conclusion is made that the software meets the needs and regulations on the management of sperm donation and receipt according to the instructions in Decree 10/2015/ND-CP.
