Taking digital impressions in dentistry is being widely applied because of its advantages such as shortening treatment time, bringing comfort to both patients and doctors. In Viet Nam, this is a fairly new technique, has not been widely used and no research topic has been done on this issue. A comparatively
clinical interventional study was performed at Hai Phong medical university hospital with 16 teeth indicated for restoration with zirconia crowns to compare the results of zirconia crowns restorations that are taken impression by two techniques which are taking impressions with silicon and taking digital
impressions (TDI) with an intraoral scanner through evaluating clinical criteria as well as the doctor’s satisfation. Results showed that dental crowns made with digital impressions were more effective and doctors were more satisfied with these crowns than with polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) impression crowns.
