This study aims to research investigates the prevalence of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection and the reassortment of HPV using the real-time PCR technique among married women aged 19 - 60 years in Nghe An province in 2020. A cross-sectional study design was carried out of 1200 women in Vinh city and three districts of Nghe An province from June 2019 to December 2020. The prevalence of HPV infection was determined using the qualitative methods of real-time PCR, while the PCR-DNA quantitative approach was implemented for HPV reassortment. The results showed that the prevalence of HPV infection was 6.3% (95% CI: 4.9% - 7.6%), of which the city was 6.93%; the rural area was 4.67%; 6.04% in the midlands and mountainous area and 7.32% in the high mountains. Regarding the HPV reassorment, 14 HPV-DNA types were reported, and were classifed into the high risk of cervical cancer. The most common HPV types were 16, 52, 18 and 58. In terms of infected pattern, a single HPV type infection was most infected, like 68.5%, and co-infection, at least two different HPV types, accounts for 31.5%. Therefore, screening for HPV infection has an essential role in preventing cervical cancer risk in women.
