This cross sectional study was implemented from April to July, 2020 on 287 nurses at a provincial hospital. This study aims to describe stress among nurses and occupational stress factors. DASS 21 questionnaire is used to investigate stress among nurses and ENSS questionnaire is used to explore different occupational elements that might cause stress. Results show that the percentage of nurses who feel stressed is 43.5%. Results from data collected using ENSS show that nurses at the hospital are exposed to all occupational elements including witnessing patients’ pain, feeling incapable to support patients’ family mentally, assisting doctors to prepare equipment, having less opportunities to talk openly to colleagues, being assigned tasks
outside of normal responsibilities, being overload with non ofcial tasks, being exposed to health risks at work, relatives of patients have unreasonable requirements. It is recommended that the hospital should have control measures to protect workers from excessive stress.
