Professional qualifcation and training needs of the rehabilitation doctors working at the provincial and district hospitals, 2020 - 2021

The study has a cross-sectional descriptive study design with the aim of describing the professional qualifcations and training needs of physicians specialized in rehabilitation at 27 provincial, district and specialist hospitals in different ecological regions 2020 - 2021. A total of 205 doctors participated in the study with an average working experience of 8.53 years, 6.35% of doctors with PhD and specialist II degrees, 21.95% of specialists I, the rest are resident doctors, masters and specialist oriented doctors. There are 80% of staff wishing to continue training through the forms of certifcation study (47.8%); concentrated training at training institutions (37.1%); continuing training courses on updating medical knowledge (89.3%); Especially, doctors who want the training program should be related to the standard of specialists; the program needs to follow the disease pattern of each region; and should follow the guideline of the Ministry of Health. In general, doctors working in the rehabilitation profession believe that the current professional capacity meets the job requirement. However, the current training needs are very large, especially the training content should adhere to the competence of the standards of a rehabilitation specialist.
