Abstract

Study was carried out to describe quality and satisfaction with basic HIV/AIDS preventive and treatment services from client’s perspective. Cross-sectional approach was applied in the study. Data was collected by direct interview with clients in 2020 in 7 provinces representing for 7 regions nation-wide. Finding from 2380 interviews showed that HIV/AIDS care servises were evaluated good in both citeria of quality and satisfation. Average scores of all criteria were above 4 (1 is lowest and 5 is highest). Treatment services (methadone, ART treatment, etc) got higher mean score than preventive services (needle and syringe distribution, health education, HIV counseling and testing, etc). There was no statistical differences found in the
scores across different provices. Assessment results demonstrated great efford of Vietnamese Government in HIV/AIDS control. However, more attention should be paid into safe needle, syringe and condom distribution activity as well as health education on HIV/AIDS.
