Musculoskeletal disorders and some related factors among nurses, midwives and orderlies working at the hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2019

A cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence and describe related factors of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among nurses, midwives and orderlies working at the Hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2019. A survey was carried out on 240 nurses, midwives, and orderlies who were working at the hospital, using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire. The results showed the prevalence of MSDs of the nurses, midwives and orderlies in the past 12 months and the past 7 days were 78.3% and 56.7%, respectively. The most common pain positions were lower back (61.3%), neck (60.0%), and shoulder (55.4%). Factors related to their MSDs included history with MSDs, working departments, number of working days/week, carrying/ lifting/ moving heavy materials or equipment and awkward working postures.
