Among hospital staff who continuously working in hospital, nurses are the ones who directly care for patients on a regular basis, so they have a high risk of getting infectious diseases, including viral hepatitis B (HBV). It is important and necessary that health workers have good knowledge and practice of occupational disease prevention and treatment. We perform this study in clinical Dept at An Giang Central General Hospital in 2020 to describe the knowledge and practice of clinical nursing staff on occupational hepatitis B prevention. The results show that 64.9% of the nurses under study have knowledge
on the subject matter. 76.9% of the group have knowledge about the disease, 81.8% have knowledge about prevention, 81% have knowledge on post-exposure management, and 70.9% have the correct general knowledge of 2/3 of the criteria of occupational disease prevention. It is needed to increase training on occupational diseases commonly encountered
by health care workers, especially nursing workers, including hepatitis B.
