Abstract

This study aims to describe the results of a comprehensive HIV prevention service model clinic at Hanoi Medical University hospital using secondary unidentified data of clinical records of service provision over 5 years. Between May 2019 and September 2023, the clinic provided PrEP to 4,678 clients, of which 97.3% were men, 93.2% to 97% of customers using the service each year weremen who have sex with men (MSM) and the proportion of clients aged 16 to 24 using PrEP each year ranged from 52.3% to 66.2%. The majority of clients were prescribed daily PrEP when initiating the PrEP program over 5 years (81.1% to 93.7%). The proportion of clients taking PrEP daily who reported using at least 4 pills per week was 72.8%. The SHP sub-clinic provides additional comprehensive sexual health services to clients including screening for sexually transmitted diseases, substance use and mental health. Customers who use the service here respond to most of the satisfaction and are very satisfied with the service. The clinic has contributed to HIV care prevention activities in Hanoi and Vietnam.
