Abstract

This study aims to describe the pregnancy outcome of mosaic embryo transfer and some related factors. A cross-sectional descriptive study on 96 cases of mosaic embryo transfer was performed at the Tam Anh General Hospital from 2021 to 2023. The results showed that pregnancy rate was 61.5%, the ongoing pregnancy rate was 43.8% and the miscarriage and stillbirth rate was 8.3%. In 42 cases of ongoing pregnancy, 23 (24.0%) cases of live birth, 15 cases of fetal monitoring and 4 cases of no information. The average birth age was 38.5 weeks and the average birth weight was 3291.3g. The rate of ongoing pregnancy was statistically significantly higher in the group of very good quality mosaic embryos compared to good and average quality mosaic embryos (66.7%, 42.5%, 19.2% with p = 0.002). The degree of mosaicism, the type of mosaic embryo
or the number of mosaic chromosomes do not affect pregnancy outcomes. However, with high levels of mosaicism and chromosomal aneuploidy, the rate of miscarriage and stillbirth tends to be higher. Therefore, the mosaic embryo still has the ability to develop into a live child. Priority is given to choosing mosaic embryos of good quality, low level of mosaicism and not aneuploid mosaicism.
