This study aims to describe somes epidemiological, clinical and endoscopic characteristics of acute rhinosinusitis in children at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Cross-sectional descriptive studies design was conducted on 42 children diagnosed with acute rhinosinusitis at the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat in Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital from March 2022 to September 2022. Results of study show that: epidemiological characteristics of acute rhinosinusitis are mainly found in the age group 0 - 5 years old with a male/female ratio of 1.6/1; the duration of illness is mainly in children under 8 weeks of age; the group of children with a history of weather allergies accounts for 59.5%; the main clinical symptoms encountered are functional symptoms such as (runny nose and stuffy nose at rates of 95.2% and 71.4% respectively); endoscopic results show that most patients have symptoms such as (edema of the nasal mucosa, purulent fluid on the floor of the nose and purulent fluid in the middle nasal cavity) with rate over 90% and fluid in the sphenoidal recess accounting for a lower than with 64.3%. Based our study results, we have comment that it is necessary to examine clinical symptoms combined with ENT endoscopic images to help clinicians diagnose and guide appropriate treatment methods for each individual with acute rhinosinusitis in children.
