Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an acute infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. To contribute to the prevention of DHF, we conducted a study to describe some epidemiological characteristics of DHF and serotype distribution of dengue virus in Bac Giang, period 2015 - 2022. The study results showed that the average morbidity rate DHF in the period 2015 - 2022 in Bac Giang was 8.85/100,000 population, with no deaths. Up to 98% of DHF cases appear from May to December. Distribution of DHF cases by ecological region, the morbidity rate was highest in the city area (15.83/100,000 population), then in the midland area (9.44/100,000 population) and the lowest in the mountain area (5.98/100,000 population). The mean age of DHF was 31.34 years (95%CI: 30,52 - 32,16). The morbidity rate in the group > 15 years old (13.75/100,000 population) was 14 times higher than the morbidity rate in the group ≤ 15 years old (0.98/100,000 population). From 2015 to 2022, in Bac Giang province, 3 types of Dengue virus were detected, including D1, D2, D4; no type D3 was detected. Types D1 and D2 alternately prevailed, appearing in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2022; type D4 was detected in 2017 and 2022 but at a very low rate. It is necessary to strengthen epidemiological surveillance and dengue virus to take effective preventive measures.
