Hypertension situation and some related factors in Mong people from 30 to 69 years old in Dak Drong commune - Cujut district – Dak Nong province, 2020

The study was conducted to describe situation and some factors related to hypertension among Mong people aged 30-69 years old in Dak Drong commune - Cu Jut district - Dak Nong province, 2020. The results showed that the rate of hypertension in the group of people from 30 - 69 years old was 19.2%, of which men (20.2%) were higher than that of women (18.1%); systolic blood pressure was 123 ± 16.1 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure was 80.9 ± 9.3 mmHg. There was a difference in the rate of hypertension among age groups and the highest belonged to the age group of 60-69 (27.6%). Factors were identified as related to hypertension, including: overweight/obesity (OR = 1.68; 95%CI: 1.03 – 2.72), using animal fat (OR = 3.4; 95%CI: 1.93 – 5.8), low levels of physical actitivy (OR = 2.2; 95%CI:1.24 – 4.0), often add salt or salty spices when eating (OR = 2.4; 95%CI: 1.46 – 3.8), smoking (OR = 2.0; 95%CI: 1.15 – 3.2) and eating too few vegetables/fruits (OR = 3.2; 95%CI: 1.87 – 5.56).
