Abstract

Vietnam is a country with strong development of many famous traditional craft villages. This study was conducted to describe the situation of using welfare sanitation works at workplaces in some craft villages in Northern Vietnam in 2018. A cross-sectional study was carried out among 1007 workers directly working in the craft villages. The research results showed that the percentage of production facilities having welfare sanitation works was quite high: urinals with 92%, toilet with 95.2%, bathrooms with 84%, handwashing faucets with 92.9%, drinking water with 98.8%. Septic toilets, individual bathrooms,
and non-lavabo faucets accounted for 93.4%, 78.3% and 64% respectively. The percentage of workers who regularly use welfare sanitation works at the workplaces such as toilets, urinals, bathroom, hand-washing faucets and drinking water was high from 62.5% to 91.7%.
