Patient experience is an important measure in
evaluating healthcare service quality, influencing
patient trust and treatment adherence. Based
on this reality, this study was conducted to
determine the proportion of patients with positive
experiences during inpatient treatment and the
associated factors at the University Medical
Center Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. This was
a descriptive cross-sectional study involving
347 inpatients from March to May 2024 at the
University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City. A
convenient sampling method was applied, and
data were collected through direct interviews
using the HCAHPS questionnaire from AHRQ
(USA), which consists of 43 questions assessing
patient experience across seven different aspects.
The study results showed that 83.6% of patients
had a positive experience during their inpatient
treatment. Specifically, 99.4% of patients reported
positive experiences with nursing care, 99.7%
with physician care, 92.5% with the hospital
environment, 97.7% with the discharge process,
and 99.1% with understanding post-discharge
care. These findings reflect a high quality of
healthcare services and provide a foundation for
further improvements in patient experience.
