A cross - sectional study on 79 health workers aimed to evaluate and describe several factors related to the ability to perform diagnostic for malaria by microscopy in the Central - Highlands region in 2021. Results showed that 11.4% of staff achieved grade A and 54.4% of staff got grade D. The staff’s capacity to count Parasite density was not good with 50.6% of subjects rated D. The factor that helps increase the staff’s capacity to diagnose malaria by microscopy is work at a higher health level. It is advisable to focus on the results found in the study to develop appropriate training plans for each health level to increase the laboratory’s capacity to diagnose malaria by microscopy across the region, thereby ensuring good quality malaria diagnosis, contributing to promoting malaria elimination throughout the Central-Highlands region, and Vietnam in the next time.
