Rate of practice for COVID-19 prevention and associated factors among traders at Xom Moi market, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province in 2021

Abstract

To understand some related factors that affect COVID-19 disease prevention practices in traders, cross-sectional descriptive study design was used on 424 subjects traders from June to December in 2021. The results showed that the prevalence ratio of bad practice for prevention of COVID-19 increased by 2.1 times in the traders with age group ≥ 40 years old (PR = 2.1; 95% CI 1.3 – 3.3), by 1.7 times in the traders traders having a religion (PR = 1.7; 95% CI 1.2 - 2.4), by 3.3 times in the traders got married (PR = 3.3; 95% CI 1.3 - 8.4). by 2.5 times in the traders with lower secondary education (PR = 2.5; 95% CI 1.8 - 3.2), by 1.6 times the traders selling fresh goods – food (PR = 1.6; 95% CI 1.1 - 2.5), up to 6.9 times in the traders who have insufficient knowledge about COVID-19 disease and 4.7 times in the traders who have negative attitude about COVID-19 disease at 0.05 significance level. The findings of the study displayed that some factors could lead the traders group to get higher risk of COVID-19 infection and the traders in Xom moi market could also put others get risk of COVID-19 infection by their bad practice.
