Condom use is the most accessible and effective measures for men who have sex with men against HIV/AIDS infection. This crosssectional study using a structured questionnaire was conducted to describe the prevalence of condom use everytime having sex in the past 1 month among men who have sex with men
(MSM) and associated factors in Thua Thien Hue province in 2020 with 200 MSMs in total participated in the study. Findings showed that the prevalence of MSM who used condoms everytime having sex in the past month was relatively low, accounting for 62.0%. Four associated factors with that low prevalence include self-stigmatization (OR = 0.25, 95% CI 0.08-0.73), experience of being stigmatized (OR = 4.9, 95% CI 1.93 - 13.7), uncomfortable feeling when using condoms (OR = 0.23, 95% CI 0.10 - 0.51) and no watching pornography (OR = 21.1, 95% CI 3.48 - 169). Communication activities on the consistent and correct condom use for safe sex and PrEP use for those with uncomfortable feeling of condom use among MSM population is essential in HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
