Knowledge and practice hands hygiene at the hospital of nursing students Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2021

A cross - sectional descriptive study surveyed the knowledge and practice hands hygiene at the hospital of 112 nursing students at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2021 from April to October 2021. Research result showed that 13.4% of students were not correct about the concept and purpose of hands hygiene and 33.0% of students were not correct about the content and importance of the hand. There were 86.6% of students correctly answered the question about the bacterial agent found mostly in the nails and 42.9% of the students answered correctly about the spectrum of the main pathogens causing nosocomial infections which are transient bacteria. There were 69.6% of students correct when answering that wearing gloves cannot
replace hands hygiene. When observing students performing hand hygiene procedures, it was found that 100% of students correct step 1; 78.6% correct step 2; 90.2% correct step 3; 69.6% correct step 4; 72.3% correct step 5 and step 6 had the lowest rate (64.3%).
