The situation of using care and treatment services at the health station for some noncommunicable diseases of the elderly in Ward 16, Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh City, in 2022

A cross - sectional descriptive study was conducted to describe the status of using care and treatment services at the health station for some non-communicable diseases of the elderly in Ward 16, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City, in 2022. The researcher used a questionnaire to interview 400 elderly who had suffered from at least 1 of 3 diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and who had used services at the health station. The results showed that 100% elderly in the study had registered to use non-communicable disease care and treatment services at health stations. However, only 34.0% went to the health station when they need toexamine or treatment for non communicable diseases at the last time. The main reasons were they live near the health station (71.3%). Of these, 78% were satisfied/ very satisfied with the care and treatment of non-communicable diseases at health stations, 89.7% will come back to use the service, and 86.8% will introduce non-communicable disease care and treatment of health station to their relatives and friends. It is necessary to strengthen communication and adverting about the capacity of health stations in the care and treatment of non-communicable diseases in the elderly and at the same time improve the quality of this service to increase the access rate and increase the satisfaction rate of the elderly.
