Abstract

A cross - sectional study was conducted in several public Hanoi areas to determine Aedes mosquitoes and the key breeding sites of Aedes source larvae and the density. The presence of both Ae aegypti and Ae. albopictus in various types of water containers. The density of Ae.aegypti mosquito was highest recorded in temples and markets, with an average from 7 and 4 individuals per one point research, the density of Ae. albopictus mosquito was highest recorded very high in the park with 34.3 individuals per one point research. At the temple, Ae. aegypti larvae are concentrated mainly in jars (45.7%) and bonsai pots (25.5%), while Ae. albopictus larvae are present mainly in waste (59.9%) and jars (28.2%). At the school, Ae. aegypti larvae are mainly in buckets (31.9%), waste (29.9%) and bud containers (17.0%). At the park, Ae. albopictus larvae are found in the waste (92.5%). At the market, the number of Ae. aegypti larvae are significantly lower than that Ae. albopictus larvae, with the highest larvae concentration in waste (49.3% for Ae. aegypti and 100% for Ae. albopictus). This is a high Aedes vector index, so need the coordination between departments, sectors, unions, authorities and people to reduce the this mosquito population in public places, so essential.
