Breastfeeding situation and some related factors among mothers who have children under 2 years old in two wards in Thai Nguyen City, 2020

Abstract

A cross-sectional study was conducted on 196 mothers have children under 2 years old in two wards in Thai Nguyen City to describe breastfeeding situation and some related factors among mothers, 2020. The results showed that the percentage of exclusively breastfeeding during the frst 6 months of child was 74.5%; 42.8% children were received breast milk within the frst hour after delivery, 38.8% after 24 hours; the proportion of children without any beverages within the frst 6 months was 73.5%; there were 26.2% children received food supplement over 6 months. The fnding showed no relationship between exclusive breastfeeding in the frst 6 months and education level, deliver methods, and breastfeed guiding from healthcare staff at the frst breastfeed of children The percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in the frst 6 months was 74.5%; There were no relationship between between exclusive breastfeeding in the frst 6 months and educational levels, delivery methods, and breastfeeding guides of healthcare staff.
