Abstract

Retrospective study - meta-analysis of traffic accident reports from Long An General Hospital and the medical records of all patients admitted due to traffic accidents from 2019 to 2023 to describe the injury situation and identify related factors. It shows that the age group from 20 - 60 years old had the highest number of accidents, with males being twice as likely as females. Most accidents involved motorbikes and scooters. 50% of the patients admitted due to traffic accidents were tested for alcohol levels, with the proportion of those having high alcohol levels ranging from 45.1% to 60.1%. Notably, in 2023, this rate decreased to 32.2%, which is a positive sign in the society’s efforts to reduce the number of people driving under the influence of alcohol. The number of patients admitted due to traffic accidents from 2021 to 2023 decreased compared to 2020. Continued efforts to raise public awareness and refine policies are essential to reduce the severity of injuries.
