Abstract

Single ventricular congenital heart disease is a complex disease that causes severe consequences if not diagnosed and treated early. This study aims to overview research related to single-ventricular congenital heart disease and the role of prenatal diagnosis in the world and in Vietnam. The results of the study showed that, over the past several decades, scientific
advancements and a profound understanding of single ventricular congenital heart disease had improved prognosis and greatly decreased mortality in treatment. This study reviewed the recent treatment progress and long-term prognosis of the group of patients with single ventricular hearts both globally and locally and also gave an overview of prenatal diagnosis of fetal cardiac disease in Vietnam.
