Physical activity among patients with hypertension in Tien Giang Central General Hospital in 2020

This study aims to evaluate the physical activity level among outpatients diagnosed with hypertension in Tien Giang Central General Hospital in 2020. A cross-sectional study was carried out in 2020 in 279 hypertensive patients following treatment through direct interviews using Global physical activity questionnaire. In total, outpatient adhered to physical activity recommendation in metabolic equivalent of tasks (≥ 600 met/minute per week) was 70.6%. The subjects graduated for high school, and higher participated physical activity with very good level comparing to the remaining (77.6% vs 63.9%, p = 0.03). Occupation relating retail job or free - sale selling associated with lower physical activity (p = 0.01). Physical activity adherence among patients with high blood pressure was not still ultimate as guidelines. Further studies should demonstrate the relationship between physical activity and social supports, community constructions, and psychological factors.
