Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive study has been conducted by employing face-to-face interview method in order to describe the reality of knowledge, attitude and practice about periodic medical checkup (PMC) of 301 people aged 18 and over living, working in Truong Thanh commune, An Lao district, Hai Phong city in 2021. Research results are: 30.9% people have good general knowledge, 28.2% people have good general attitude, and 29.9% of research subjects have good PMC practice in the past 12 months. Some factors such as: age under 40 years old, academic level above high school, average family income over 10 million/month, working in labor organization are related to knowledge and attitude the good level of people in the area about PMC. Therefore, this study has recommended that attention should be paid to communication activities to raise the awareness, attitude, and practice of periodic medical checkup of people in Truong Thanh commune and to increase the enrolment rate of health insurance and social insurance.
