Factors associated with the quality of life among chronic kidney disease patients undergoing routine hemodialysis therapy at Ha Tinh General Hospital in 2020

A cross-sectional study was conducted on 270 patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing routine hemodialysis therapy at Ha Tinh provice hospital, from January to October 2020, which aimed to describe the factors associated with the quality of life of patients. The results of the study show that there are positive correlations between physical health score and symptoms (r = 0.63, p < 0.001), impacts of the disease (r = 0.32, p < 0.001), burden of kidney disease (r = 033, p < 0.001), cognitive function (r = 0.55, p < 0.001), quality of social interaction (r = 0.26, p = 0.002), sexual function (r = 0.38, p < 0.001), sleep (r = 0.37, p < 0.001), and social support (r = 0.12, p < 0.001). There are positive correlations between physical health and symptoms (r = 0.52, p < 0.001), impacts of the disease (r = 0.48, p < 0.001), burden of kidney disease (r = 0.48, p < 0.001), cognitive function (r = 0.42, p < 0.001), sexual function (r = 0.39, p < 0.001), sleep (r = 0.48, p < 0.001), and social support (r = 0.35, p < 0.001). The nurse needs to implement a care plan that contributes to the improvement of the patient's quality of life.
