Epidemiological characteristic of trauma patients in Duc Giang general hospital in 2020

Abstract

The study was to describe the epidemiological characteristic of trauma patients in General hospital. The data was collected from OneHIS software with 3533 trauma patients from January, 01^st to December 31^st in 2020.  In these patients, 70.3% were male; 10.1% were under 15 years old and 78.5% were adults; highest numbers of trauma patients in May (355 cases). Regarding location, 54.5% were on roads and 18.4% were at their home. The most common causes of injury were traffic accidents (48.6%). The extremities, face, head were the most damaged organs (74.6%). Outcome of treatment: 0.3% were died and mean duration of treatment was 7.9 ± 5.0 days.  From the results found, we need solutions to decrease proportion of trauma among people with male gender, 15 - 60 years of age and trauma by traffic accidents.
