Abstract

Objective: To describe some risk factors to non-communicable diseases of the elderly in Thai Nguyen city in 2020. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 780 elderly people in Thai Nguyen city. Results: 11.8% daily smoking. 9.1% drinking alcohol more than the recommended; showed a clear and significant difference between males 17.3% and females 1.7%. Drinking alcohol at dangerous levels accounted for 8.3%; Males were 16,8% higher than females (0.7%). The difference was statistically significant with p < 0.05. According to the standards, the percentage of undereating vegetables/fruits was very high (83.8%); 25.3% of subjects did not achieve the physical activity. The proportion of overweight/obese was 14.2%.
