Situation of diabetic retinopathy in some districts in Da Nang city

Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe the experiencing complications of retinopathy and describe factors related to complications of retinopathy in patients with diabetes. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from August 30 to April 30, 2021, on 219 patients with diabetes in Da Nang city. The research results showed that there are 38 cases of diabetic retinopathy (accounting for 17.4%); Non-incidence with diabetic retinopathy but having other pathology was 63/219 people (accounting for 28.8%); most of the study subjects had poor eyesight, specifically 177/219 people had this sign (accounting for 80.8%); patients with diabetic retinopathy recieved urgent referral for treatment were 02 cases; among the cases of diabetic retinopathy was associated with a number of factors including: the number of years with diabetes, gender, poor eyesight and comorbidities with hypertension (with p < 0.05).
