Abstract

This study aims to describe nutritional status and dietary intake of cancer patients being treated at Viet Tiep Hospital in Hai Phong, 2020. The results showed that the percentage of malnutrition according to body mass index (BMI) was 29.4%, normal nutritional status was 54.1%, overweight-obesity was 16.5%. According to Bach Mai Boston tool (BMI), there were 23.9% of patients with moderate and mild malnutrition, 10.1% of patients at risk of
severe malnutrition. The average dietary energy of the patients was 1393 ± 599.5 Kcal/day. The proportion of Protein: Lipid: Carbohydrate were 21.4:13.9:64.6 respectively, unbalanced as RDA. The highest percentage of patients
meeting the recommended requirement for vitamin B1 was 75.9%, vitamins and minerals: calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin C and other B vitamins were all below 50%.
