Body mass index, nutritional status and some related factors of employees aged 15 to 60 years old in Tra Vinh province in 2019 - 2020

This study aims to determine an average body mass index, nutritional status and some related factors employees aged 15 to 60 years old in Tra Vinh province in 2019 - 2020. Descriptive Crosssectional study were conducted on 1,500 subjects aged 15-60 years old in Tra Vinh province. Research result showed that the average body mass index was 23.27 ± 3.65kg/m2, malnutrition accounted for 8.5%. Overweight and obesity prevalence rate was 50.8%; There were 11 related factors to the average body mass index of employees aged 15 to 60 years old including age, gender, occupation, education, economy, family history of obesity, family history of weighing less than 35kg, personal history of hypertension, musculoskeletal disease, last meal of the day, time of evening meal (p < 0.05). Therefore, it is necessary to propose measures to improve the nutritional status of employees aged 15 - 60 years in Tra Vinh province, especially propagating nutrition regimes appropriately, counseling nutrition for employees.
