We conducted a cross-sectional study in 757 workers to describe the clinical characteristics of respiratory diseases in workers suffered exposure directly to coal dust at Tay Nam Joint Stock Company – Vinacomin in 2019 by questionnaires designed before. The results showed that 28.5% of workers had coal workers’ pneumoconiosis. 22.2% of workers with coal workers’ pneumoconiosis had shortness of breath, 10.7% of workers without coal workers’ pneumoconiosis had shortness of breath, this difference is statistically signifcant (χ2 = 16,957, p = 0,000). 64.8% of workers without coal workers’ pneumoconiosis had cough, 49.4% of workers without coal workers’ pneumoconiosis had cough, this difference is statistically signifcant (χ2 = 14,835, p = 0,000). In the group of coal workers’ pneumoconiosis disease, most of them usually had 2- month cough a year (62.8%), the rate in group without coal workers’ pneumoconiosis was 66.5%. This difference is statistically signifcant (χ2 = 9,873, p = 0.020). 21.3% of worker with coal workers’ pneumoconiosis had chest pain, this rate in the group without coal workers’ pneumoconiosis was only 12.9%, this difference is statistically signifcant (χ2 = 8,309, p = 0.004).
