Depression, anxiety and stress and the need for psychological support among 12th class students of Le Quy Don high school in Khanh Hoa province, 2018

A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to identify the rate of depression, anxiety, stress and some factors related to depression, anxiety, stress in 12th grade students of Le Quy Don high school in Khanh Hoa province. All 12th grade students of 2017- 2018 school year were recruited in this study. Results showed that 55.4% of participants were depression with 17.4% in mild state; 22.3% in moderate state and 7.7% in severe state. The fgures of anxiety were 64.8% with 18.8% in
extremely severe state and 16.4% in severe state. The fgure of stress was 63.8% with 23.5% in mild state; 12.4% in severe state and 4.7% in extremely severe. This study also showed that 69.1% of participants suffering from stress were female. From the statistic, the risk of depression was 2 times higher than in female. Also, the risk of depression was nearly double in participants who were bullied by their friends (p<0.05). The risk of anxiety and stress in female was 3 times higher than in male (p<0.001). Only 8.7% of participants used psychological services. There were 57.4% of participants who need psychological consultation.
