A cross - sectional study determine prevalence of depression and describe its associated factors among men who have sex with men (MSM) was conducted at a clinic providing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), in Hanoi Medical University Hospital, from May to August 2021. Data were collected based on clinical interviews using structured questionnaire, including ACE questions. Depressive episodes were determined using ICD-10 diagnostic criteria. The study recruited 183 MSM, of whom 25 (14.2%) had a depressive episode. The multivariable logistic regression model indicated stressful life events, and disclosure of sexual orientation (coming out) increased likelihood of depression among MSM. The study shows that depression among MSM is frequent and suggests a need for mental health care intervention for this population.
