Knowledge, attitude towards COVID-19 vaccination and associated factors among students at Eastern Intenational University in Binh Duong province, in 2022

Abstract

The study aimed to assess the knowledge and attitude of students at Eastern International University (EIU) regarding to COVID-19 vaccination and describe associated factors affecting the intention to get the fourth dose vaccination. This was a cross - sectional descriptive study which was conducted with a total of 457 students at EIU. The results of the study showed that the majority of students had an average knowledge of COVID-19 vaccination, accounting for 85.3%; while there was 12.5% students with good knowledge, and 2.2% of students lacked knowledge. In addition, most of students had a neutral attitude with 60%, whereas the percentage of students having a positive attitude was 37%, and 3.1% of students had a negative attitude. The percentage of students willing to get the 4th dose was 56%.The study also showed that factors such as major and having received the 3rd injection had an impact on the level of knowledge and attitudes of students. In addition, female students had a more positive attitude than males about getting the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance students’ knowledge and attitude about the benefits and necessity of COVID-19 booster vaccination.
