Child maltreatment is a global problem with serious consequences during people’s lifespan. We conducted this study under a research collaboration with Swiss partners, in order to review instruments to measure child maltreatment among secondary school students aged 11 - 15 years. This scoping review serves as the basis for the research team to develop a quality toolkit, which can accurately assess the current situation of child maltreatment in Vietnam, which is applicable for secondary school students aged 11 - 15 years. In general, to date, there are not many scales that can be used for secondary school students to measure child maltreatment. Some recommended tools are ICAST-C, CTQ- SF and JVQ. When selecting tools, those are easily understandable with proper length, validated and culturally sensitive should be prioritized.
