Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial effect of 38% Silver Diamine fluoride (SDF) solution on bacteria among 6 - 7 year old students with tooth decay after 24 hours, at primary School, Hai Duong City. Methods: Design of a non - controlled clinical intervention study applying a comparative model before and after the intervention. The study was carried out on 50 students with caries, samples taken at wormholes before and after SDF intervention 38% 24 hours were cultured with selective media and especially using MADLI TOF machine to identify bacteria. Results: 19 students had samples that were positive for bacteria causing tooth decay before the  intervention and 3 students had samples that were positive for bacteria causing tooth decay after the intervention. Conclusion: 38% antibacterial SDF solution effectively reduces the rate of bacteria that cause tooth decay. Further studies are needed to evaluate the antibacterial efficacy of 38% SDF solution over a longer period of time.
