Satisfaction survey of social workers of public hospitals in Long An province in 2022

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of satisfaction, work engagement, job turnover of social wokers as well as the difficulties that social workers was facing while performing their jobs. A survey of 76 social workers from 18 public hospitals in Long An province showed that 9 (11.8%) social workers were “Unsatisfied”, 33 (43.4%) social workers were “Acceptable” and 34 (44.7%) social wokers were “Satisfied” with their jobs. In addition, this study also showed that 32 (42.1%) social workers did not want to engage with their profession and 35 (46.1%) social workers intended to change their current positions. The percentage of social workers facing difficulties in performing their tasks was quite high (82.9%). Thus, these are issues that managers of Long An public hospitals need to pay more attention to in the coming time.
