Abstract

The study was conducted as a retrospective study on 460 subjects with type 2 diabetes in 2021 in Le Chan district, Hai Phong aims to describe clinical, epidemiological characteristics and some factors related to blood sugar control in outpatients with type 2 diabetes. The proportion of patients with comorbidities of Type 2 diabetes accounted for 91.3%, among which hypertension was 50.9%, and dyslipidemia was 17.4%. 50.2% of the patients had diabetic complications. 36.3% of the patients had had the disease for over 10 years. The percentage of patients who adhered to the medication use was 71.5%. while 69.1% followed the diet. Those who obeyed the physical activity regime made up 73.9%. 56.7% of the patients reached their target of controlling fasting blood glucose whereas 50.7% reached their target of controlling HbA1C. 48.9% reached their target of controlling both fasting blood glucose and HbA1C. The study found some factors related to the rate of blood sugar control, such as the proportion of the patients receiving consultation about diet, exercise regime, and complications; the percentage of patients adhering to physical activity and medication in treatment.
